Three Simple Tips to Prevent Odour from a Grow Room

Foul smell from stagnant water, fertilizers, and decaying leaves is a common issue in indoor gardening. Lack of proper air circulation and excess temperature as well as humidity are the major reasons behind this issue. Dealing with plants' smell can be challenging. And, when it comes to dealing with it you can use temporary methods like lighting the scented candles. Alternatively, you can apply better techniques for long-term effects. In this write-up, we have suggested a few simple and practical tips to growroom odour control.

1) Ensure proper ventilation

Lack of proper ventilation is a common problem with indoor gardening. If possible, you should place the grow pots at a well-ventilated place, like near a window. If you are practicing hydroponic gardening, then you can install grow fans into the area. Both oscillating fans and standing fans are helpful in ensuring proper circulation of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the grow room. Plus, it is important to ensure adequate temperature inside the room by using grow lights. If required, use an air duct and exhaust fan in your grow room.

2) Install a carbon filter

A carbon filter can help in controlling the grow room odour by extracting the polluted air and dust particles. It also ensures that the foul smell of plants does not spray or leak through an opening.

As the carbon filters make use of activated carbon particles to absorb smells, it also prevents all kinds of impurities from the grow room, and ensure a fresher feel.

For the best results, you should use a fan along with the carbon filter to push or pull air from the grow room.

3) Use gels and air fresheners

Odour absorbing gels and air fresheners do not provide long term solutions to the problem of odour, but they can mask it well. You can use air fresheners or sprays in your grow room and they will neutralize the foul smell by binding with an unpleasant smell. However, you should not place the absorbing gels inside a grow space because the plants may absorb the smell and their natural scent will be messed up.

With these tips, you can easily prevent the smell from your grow room. As foul smell also suggests a sign of decay, you should look for any signs of infestation.
